Florent Ibenge set to sign with Azam FC

Florent Ibenge is set to officially join Azam FC. The Congolese coach has reached an agreement with the Tanzanian club on a two-year contract, with an option to extend.

Former manager of Vita Club and RS Berkane, Florent Ibenge is a well-known figure in African football. Winner of the CAF Confederation Cup and a finalist in the Champions League, he arrives with a clear goal: to take Azam to the next level, both in the league and in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup. According to Micky Jnr, Florent Ibenge will even become the highest-paid coach in the local league.

Expected to arrive in Dar es Salaam before pre-season starts on July 25, Florent Ibenge will be joined by three or four members of his staff. His arrival marks a turning point in the club's project, as Azam look to his experience and discipline to challenge Tanzanian giants Simba SC and Young Africans.
