Just hours after Les Bleus’ defeat to England (4-6) in Miami in the third-place playoff at the 2026 World Cup, Didier Deschamps was hosted Sunday evening at the Élysée by Emmanuel Macron.

The news was confirmed by several reliable sources. Accompanied by members of his staff, the coach shared a confidential dinner with the President of the Republic for a final debriefing in a small circle.

This meeting marks the end of DD’s tenure after fourteen years at the helm of the France national team.
