France national team: Karim Benzema's clear opinion on Zinedine Zidane

Zinédine Zidane is indeed set to become the new head coach of the France national team. The official announcement is expected tomorrow.

Before that, speaking to Konbini, Karim Benzema was asked to react to the news. The former Real Madrid striker fully endorses this choice.

"Am I happy to see him become the manager of Les Bleus? I don't know if it's him, but if it is, yes, I'm really happy. He's a legend, he's like a big brother," said the Al-Hilal player, who played under the French tactician at Real Madrid.

As a reminder, Karim Benzema played under the French coach at Real Madrid. The two Frenchmen even made history together by winning the Champions League three years in a row—in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Could this mean a possible return for Benzema to the national team once Zidane is officially named head coach? Benzema's last appearance for Les Bleus was in 2022.
