French national team: Zinédine Zidane's salary settled
The appointment of Zinédine Zidane as head coach of the French national team is imminent.
The French Football Federation has also wrapped up a sensitive issue behind the scenes. According to information from L’Équipe, the future manager's contract has now been signed. This is a decisive step, especially as it allows the FFF to avoid the new annual gross salary cap of €450,000 introduced by the law on professional sports governance.
Since the implementing decrees had not yet been published at the time of signing, the federation will not need to request an exemption from the Ministry of Sports. This move will also keep the former Real Madrid coach's salary confidential, which is expected to far exceed the threshold set by the new regulation.
