The Tunisian international Hamdi Nagguez, former defender of Al-Ismaïly and Zamalek, is expected to soon sign with the Qatari club Al-Shahania.

According to the local site Diwan FM, citing well-informed sources, the negotiations between the former Al-Ahli Jeddah player and the management of Al-Shahania have significantly advanced in recent hours.

The former defender of the Eagles of Carthage is on the verge of a new experience in his career by joining Al-Shahania, especially since the regulations allow him to sign with any team as a free agent, without a contract, after the end of his stint with Al-Ismaïly. His halt in competition was caused by a FIFA suspension due to financial disputes with Zamalek.

Disputes with Zamalek and Al-Ismaïly, and an appeal to FIFA

The name of the Tunisian player Hamdi Nagguez has been linked to several conflicts. He was notably suspended by FIFA for outstanding payments owed to Zamalek, with a ruling to pay $160,000 to the Cairo club.

Nagguez donned the Zamalek colors between 2018 and 2020, before returning to the club in 2021. However, due to the recruitment ban imposed on the club at that time, he could not be registered on the team's list. He then joined Al-Ahli Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, before making his return to Egypt with Al-Ismaïly.

More recently, he was sidelined and suspended from all competition with Al-Ismaïly after filing a complaint with FIFA against his club for unpaid wages.
