Inter Miami: Luis Suárez to retire this summer?

One of world football’s biggest stars could be hanging up his boots this summer. Currently playing at Inter Miami alongside his friend Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez is reportedly considering retirement.

According to AS, unlike Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez is not expected to extend his contract with Inter Miami, which runs until next December. In fact, he may decide to end his career in six months, right before turning 39 in January 2025.

The Spanish daily also reports that Suárez’s departure would be crucial for improving the American club’s finances, as his “franchise player” contract makes him one of the highest earners on the roster.

Following the recent elimination of Suárez’s teammates from the FIFA Club World Cup, after a heavy 0-4 loss to PSG, the former Barça striker wants to leave Inter Miami on a high note—ideally with an MLS championship title.
