A late setback has disrupted Spain's preparations for their friendly against Serbia, as goalkeeper Joan García was forced to withdraw just hours before kickoff. The 24-year-old, who represents both Barcelona and the Spanish national team, reported feeling unwell on the morning of the match.

According to journalist Alex Pintanel, García approached the coaching staff with concerns about discomfort in his inner thigh. Medical staff promptly sent him for a closer examination, and the results left no room for doubt—he would be unavailable for the evening's fixture.

What remains unclear at this stage is the extent of the issue. The Spanish federation's medical team is expected to provide further details in due course, but for now, the severity of the injury and a potential recovery timeline remain uncertain.

García has enjoyed a busy season at the club level, having featured 36 times for Barcelona. In those appearances, he has conceded 35 goals while keeping 15 clean sheets—a steady presence that Spain will now have to do without in today's friendly.
