June 2026 FIFA window: An unprecedented clash looming between Burkina Faso and Russia?

The international break schedule is starting to take shape for the Burkina Faso Stallions. On the agenda, two friendly matches have been announced.

Burkina Faso could face Russia in a historic first-ever meeting, according to Lassina Sawadogo. If negotiations are successful, this friendly showdown between the Stallions and Sbornaya will take place in Moscow on June 5.

The RTB journalist revealed that two other options are being considered by the Burkina Faso Football Federation. The first is a match against Guinea Conakry, and the second against the Eagles of Mali. This second encounter is expected to be played at the August 4 Stadium in Ouagadougou on June 9.

The June window kicks off on the first and runs through the ninth. This period will give new head coach Amir Abdou the chance to continue building a strong Stallions squad ready for upcoming challenges.
