Kwesi Appiah discusses Sudan's ambitions against Senegal
On March 22, 2025, Sudan will face Senegal at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi, Libya, for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. James Kwesi Appiah, the head coach of Sudan, spoke about his team's heightened ambitions for this clash.
Sudan, currently leading Group B with 10 points after four matches, is gearing up to face Senegal on March 22, followed by a match against South Sudan on March 25. These games are crucial to maintain their dominant position and move closer to qualification.
The coach of the Nile Crocodiles acknowledges the strength of Senegal's Lions of Teranga but insists on the competitiveness of his own team.
“Senegal is a strong team, but they are not the only one. We are also among the best teams in Africa. Our performances have earned us recognition, and now we want to go even further. I hope the federation will offer bonuses to the players. They deserve it after the hard work they have put in. These rewards will motivate them to achieve positive results against big teams like Senegal, which would increase our chances of qualification,” Kwesi Appiah said to local media.
