The 2006 World Cup winner continued: "How old is he? 17. He's already won the Euros with Spain. He is exceptional. You can't compare him to anyone, because what he does is unique."

He went on to add: "Comparing other youngsters to him would only make things harder for them."

And concluded: "He's a rare player. There are very few like him."

It's worth noting that last Wednesday, Lamine Yamal played his 100th match for Barça, even though he hasn't yet turned 17. He already boasts 22 goals and 33 assists, numbers that only underline the exceptional nature of his talent.
