Ligue 1: Paul-José M’Poku at the helm of a bold takeover project!
The former Congolese international Paul-José M’Poku could play a key role in a major operation in French Ligue 1 according to the latest revelations from L'Equipe.
Currently involved in the takeover project of Toulouse FC by the Emirati investment fund World Gate Investment (WGI), the midfielder quickly confirmed initial contact with the mandated bank, Moelis:
“We just asked for information. We're not looking to force things, just to seize an opportunity.”
Even though the sale is not yet finalized, WGI is seriously exploring this avenue, without ruling out other options, according to the local press. Standard Liège, also on the market, remains a potential alternative for the group.
M’Poku ready to influence the future of football
M’Poku, born in Kinshasa, is no longer just content with being on the field. As head of the football department at WGI, he is inspired by the paths of figures like Ibrahimovic or Benatia, who guide clubs in their structural evolution.
The former maestro of the Leopards of the DRC is also undergoing UEFA training and has joined a FIFA program for future leaders.
His entourage highlights his foresight: “He always saw beyond the match,” says Chris Mavinga.
Driven by a strong network, M’Poku is establishing himself as a serious player in his post-career, ready to influence the future of football with impact and vision.
