Mali football awards: First Division takes center stage

The third edition of the Mali Football Awards shone a spotlight on the national league on Thursday, May 28 in Bamako. Four stars from the Orange Pro First Division were recognized: Issa Jiguiyba as Best Player, Ngolo Traoré as Best Goalkeeper, Ibrahim Doumbia as Best Local Talent, and Fily Dembélé as Best Coach.

Local football was not overlooked. At the Mali Football Awards ceremony, the Orange Pro First Division Association put four of its representatives in the limelight.

Issa Jiguiyba, the midfielder for AS Real, was crowned Best Player in the Orange Pro First Division. Thanks to his consistent performances and decisive play for the Scorpions, he led his team to an impressive third-place finish.

On the sidelines, Fily Dembélé of Diara Club claimed the title of Best Coach in the Orange Pro First Division. As the mastermind behind his team's remarkable run, he managed to get the most out of his squad (finishing fourth in the league and reaching the final of the Mali Cup).

Between the posts, Ngolo Traoré of Stade Malien was named Best Goalkeeper. The Bamako-based shot-stopper proved to be a rock at the back, showcasing his talent throughout Stade Malien's exceptional campaign in the CAF Champions League.

Among the youngsters, Ibrahim Doumbia of USCO earned the Best Local Talent award.
