Malian defender is reportedly on the radar of another Portuguese club, and this time the interest comes not from any of the Portuguese clubs but from Rio Ave. The Ashlab defender, who possesses a strong build and excellent technique, has been unlucky this season, with his contract with GD Chaves having recently expired, he hasn't lived the last few months of that contract in a meaningful way due to injuries.

Mamadou Tounkara The 23-year-old is now attracting interest from Rio Ave, with the Portuguese management seeing him as a good option to strengthen the first team's defensive line ahead of a challenging new season.

Technical specifications that make it a must-have for many

The 1.92 tall defender is expected to make a strong return to the Portuguese league, and Rio Ave is aiming to convince the young Malian to join their project for next season, and talks between the two parties have intensified in recent days as press reports indicate that the player's contract expires on June 30 and is expected to receive a new deal from one of the interested clubs.

Other clubs are interested in signing the player in Portugal, such as CD Tondela, however, the player's current club GD Chaves wants to renew the 23-year-old's contract for as long as possible and utilize his services.
