Inter Miami head coach Javier Mascherano's confirmed that 3 key players will miss the opening match of the 2025 fifa Club World cup against Egyptian giants Al Ahly due to injury.

Opener Set for Hard Rock Stadium

The high profile clash's scheduled for early Sunday morning at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, California, kicking off the newly expanded 32 team tournament.

Key Injuries: Jordi Alba, Yannick Bright & Gonzalo Logan

Mascherano revealed in his pre match press conference that veteran Spanish left back Jordi Alba, midfield enforcer Yannick Bright and youngster Gonzalo Logan will all be sidelined.

"We hope to have them back for the second game" Mascherano said.

Alba’s absence's particularly significant with the former Barcelona star struggling with calf muscle issue. Known for his connection with Lionel Messi, Alba's been vital creative outlet down the left flank.

Meanwhile Yannick Bright who'd formed solid midfield partnership with Sergio Busquets, will also be missed for his physical presence and defensive stability.

Inter Miami face tough group in the tournament with Al Ahly, FC Porto and Palmeiras all battling for spot in the knockout rounds.
