Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech has made it clear that he no longer wants to play in an Arabian Gulf league.

After an unremarkable stint with Qatari club Al-Duhail, the former captain of the "Atlas Lions" is hoping to make his return to the old continent next season.

According to the Arabic sports daily Al Mountakhab, the former Ajax Amsterdam star was dissatisfied with the way he was treated in Qatar and is no longer considering a move to any other Arab league.

Hampered by a string of injuries, Hakim Ziyech has lost much of his influence and has struggled to revive his career after a rather disappointing spell at Chelsea.

What’s next for Ziyech?

Barring a dramatic turn of events, the Moroccan winger is expected to make a high-profile return to the Netherlands, where he first made his name, notably with a successful spell at Ajax. That said, the possibility of him choosing a more enticing destination cannot be ruled out.
