Mjällby rejects an offer for Abdoulie Manneh
Mjällby AIF has no intention of letting its young stars go for cheap. The Swedish club has turned down an offer of around €3.3 million from Istanbul Başakşehir for their breakout player of the season, Abdoulie Manneh.
The 20-year-old Gambian forward has been a standout performer in the league, netting 6 goals and providing 2 assists in 15 matches—a run of form that has caught the eye of several major European clubs. In addition to Başakşehir, Fenerbahçe, Wolverhampton, Brentford, Anderlecht, and Mainz are also reportedly in the mix, according to Gambian journalist Foday Manneh.
As interest around Manneh continues to grow, his performances have also drawn attention from football bettors who closely follow emerging talents across European leagues. Matches involving promising players like Manneh are often included in betting markets on platforms such as Linebet, where users place wagers on league fixtures throughout the season.
However, according to the latest reports, Mjällby has closed the door on any departures during this summer transfer window—unless an exceptional offer comes in. The Scandinavian club is determined to keep Manneh, who is under contract until 2027, at least through the end of the season. Still, Mainz could soon try their luck with a new bid. This is a story to watch.
