Naples: Victor Osimhen absent from training as preseason resumes

On Monday, July 14, Victor Osimhen was nowhere to be seen in Naples as the team returned for the start of preseason.

Napoli resumed training on Monday with a group of fourteen players, but without Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian international is currently in negotiations for a permanent move to Galatasaray. The players "gathered at the training center for medical examinations and fitness tests. Victor Osimhen was absent and submitted a medical certificate," Napoli stated in a brief press release.

Osimhen spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, where he netted 26 goals in 30 league matches. Napoli head coach Antonio Conte no longer sees him in his plans and the club is ready to part ways with the 26-year-old Nigerian, but they won’t let him go for less than €75 million.
