Nico Williams Breaks Silence After Rejecting Barcelona for Bilbao Extension

After weeks of speculation and reported agreement with FC Barcelona Nico Williams's finally opened up about his shock decision to renew his contract with Athletic Bilbao until 2035.

In interview with Mundo Deportivo, the Spanish international said:

"I’m incredibly excited. We've long season ahead with ambitious goals including the Champions League , every player dreams of winning it"

He added:

"There’s no better way to chase such trophy than with the club of my life. I want to keep writing history here at San Mames with my fans & family"

Nico also praised his brother Iñaki Williams who was recently named team captain:

"We’ve always dreamed of this moment. Inaki's role model especially for me. He’s the perfect leader and I’m looking forward to seeing him wear the armband for years"
