CAF president Patrice Motsepe is determined to shake things up around the organization of the Africa Cup of Nations.

After making the highly controversial decision to hold the continental tournament every four years instead of every two, Patrice Motsepe also announced another major change this Sunday. Following the expansion to 24 teams in 2019 (up from 16), AFCON will now feature 28 teams, aiming to further the development of African football nations.

As a reminder, CAF is also set to launch a Nations League by regional zones to intensify rivalries across the continent.
