Official: Andy Carroll returns to England

Andy Carroll continues his career in the lower tiers of English football. At 36, the striker has officially signed with Dagenham & Redbridge, a club competing in the sixth tier of English football.

The former England international, who earned 9 caps and scored 2 goals for the Three Lions, joined Bordeaux last summer on a two-year deal. But the Ligue 2 adventure was short-lived. The French club and Carroll decided to part ways in June.

Now, he's back in his home country. Carroll has signed a contract with Dagenham & Redbridge running until 2028. The club has recently entered a new era, with new Qatari owners and a clear ambition to climb the English football pyramid.

Carroll, a Newcastle academy product, has worn the colors of Liverpool, West Ham, and Reading during his career. He will bring his experience and power to a team now dreaming bigger than ever.
