OM: Nayef Aguerd matches a 10-year-old record
Nayef Aguerd

Clearly, Nayef Aguerd is proving to be a blessing for Olympique de Marseille. The Moroccan international has just matched a long-standing record.

OM have been in great form in recent weeks. Yesterday against Metz, the Phocéens sealed a convincing 3-0 victory, not to mention their emphatic 4-0 win over Ajax in the Champions League. This momentum can be partly attributed to the gradual adaptation of the new signings. And one of them, Nayef Aguerd, has played a major role in making Marseille's defense more solid. The Moroccan has now equaled a record that has stood for ten years.

In fact, Nayef Aguerd has become the first player to win his first five official matches with OM since Baptiste Aloé in 2015. Aloé's run stopped at six, but the streak is still alive for the Moroccan international, who could surpass him if he wins his upcoming games with the Phocéens after the international break.
