Orlando Pirates claimed a 1-0 victory over Polokwane City in a Betway Premiership encounter at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday.

The Buccaneers, on the back of a shock defeat to Saint-Eloi Lupopo in the first leg of the CAF Champions League second round, broke the deadlock through Tshepang Moremi in the 6th minute.

As a result, Abdeslam Ouaddou's men moved three points off log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, having picked up 18 points with two games less.

Interestingly, Pirates will visit Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in their next league on Saturday, 01 November, in what will be a top-of-the-table affair.

Meanwhile, with the defeat, Rise and Shine remain in sixth place, with 15 points collected from 10 league outings.
