Premier League: Crystal Palace still waiting for Ismaïla Sarr
Ismaïla Sarr has still not played for Crystal Palace this season. The Senegalese striker remains sidelined due to a persistent fitness issue.
Still not ready
Following the Eagles’ 3-0 victory over Middlesbrough on Tuesday evening in the League Cup, Pierre Sage provided an update. “He’s not ready at the moment; the groin problem is still there. He needs to be able to train with the squad, and that’s not yet the case. He’s training individually,” explained the French manager.
Ismaïla Sarr is therefore continuing his individual training. He has not yet resumed team training, an essential step before he can play again. For the time being, the club has not announced a specific date for his return.
A key player
Absent since the start of the season, Ismaïla Sarr has missed all Premier League matches as well as the Cup tie against Middlesbrough. His absence is taking its toll on Palace’s attacking play. The winger finished as the club’s top scorer last season with 21 goals in 43 appearances. Under contract with Crystal Palace until 2029, Ismaïla Sarr has made 87 appearances and scored 23 goals for Senegal.
