PSG ready to outpace Barça for the “Malian Messi”!
The Spanish daily Sport reports that Paris Saint-Germain has taken concrete steps to sign Malian prodigy Aboubacar Maiga, even as the player seemed to be on the verge of joining FC Barcelona.
At just 16 years old, Maiga is already establishing himself as one of the most promising talents on the African continent.
He made a name for himself during the West African Football Union (WAFU) U17 tournament, playing a key role in securing Mali's qualification for the U17 Africa Cup of Nations. His standout performances earned him the flattering nickname, the “Malian Messi.”
Currently part of the Africa Foot Academy in Bamako, the young attacking midfielder is renowned for his vision, creativity, and technical maturity on the pitch.
His coach, Balla Sanogo, did not hesitate to praise his qualities: “He’s a true rough diamond, an extremely promising talent and one of the best in his age group. An attacking midfielder, a real number 10, with outstanding game intelligence.”
