Qualifying for CHAN 2025: Algeria vs Gambia match dates now revealed!

The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) announced, via its official website, on Monday, April 14, the dates for the home and away matches between Algeria and Gambia, as part of the final round of qualifiers for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2025.

Dates for Algeria – Gambia matches in CHAN qualifiers

According to the official statement from the FAF, the first leg between Algeria and Gambia will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025, starting at 3:00 PM (GMT), at the Independence Stadium in Bakau, Gambia.

The return match will be held on Friday, May 9 at 6:00 PM (GMT) at the May 19, 1956 Stadium in Annaba, Algeria.

The team that qualifies from this double confrontation will join Group C of the CHAN, alongside Uganda, Niger, Guinea, and the winner of the playoff between South Africa and Malawi.

It's important to note that the African Football Confederation (CAF) decided to postpone the start of the CHAN to August, although it was initially scheduled for last February.

This decision was made due to delays in the preparation of the host countries (Kenya, Rwanda, and Tanzania) as well as the incomplete qualification process for teams for this African competition.
