One thing is certain: there’s little room for doubt left. Real Madrid are fully committed to securing Rodri’s signature during this summer transfer window.

While several Spanish media outlets still had reservations, those doubts have now been swept aside. In fact, AS had previously reported that Los Merengues weren’t necessarily interested in the best player of the 2026 World Cup. But things have changed. Now, the outlet states that Real Madrid are set to make their move for the Manchester City midfielder.

AS adds that Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has given the green light, and the Rodri deal could be finalized during a meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday. Now the sole contender after Rodri turned down PSG, the Spanish capital club hopes to secure the international midfielder for a fee between 40 and 50 million euros.

As a reminder, the former Atlético man’s contract with Manchester City expires in a year.
