Real Madrid: PSG still reeling from Yan Diomandé setback
Among the reigning European champions, Yan Diomandé’s failed transfer has left a bitter taste.
Although PSG had reached an agreement with Ivorian international Yan Diomandé as early as June, Real Madrid swooped in and overtook the Parisians by raising the stakes—improving contract terms, agent fees, and the transfer fee itself. This aggressive move has clearly riled the Parisian club.
"In the end, they wanted crazy sums for a player with potential, but who, just a year ago, was playing in Spain’s second division. We’re not going to break the bank and abandon our policy just because another club comes out with fireworks! It also shows where Real Madrid stand today…" a PSG source told L’Equipe.
One last push from PSG for Yan Diomandé?
While Real Madrid has hijacked the Ivorian international’s move to PSG, Los Blancos have yet to fully agree with RB Leipzig on the winger’s transfer terms. In fact, L’Equipe reports this Tuesday that a new opening could arise for PSG.
Although the Parisian club has publicly announced its withdrawal from the race, the situation remains under close watch. PSG is well aware of Diomandé’s interest in their project and knows that some of his family members are fans of the club. The chance to play under Luis Enrique is also a major draw. The likelihood of another dramatic twist could grow if Real Madrid drags its feet on sealing the deal.
