Real Sociedad comments on Umar Sadiq's future during loan at Valencia
After a challenging first half of the season with Real Sociedad, where he saw limited playing time, Umar Sadiq found the perfect environment for a comeback at Mestalla. Having joined Valencia CF on loan in January 2025, the Nigerian international quickly adapted to his new surroundings.
Under the guidance of Carlos Corberán, the 28-year-old striker netted six goals in 15 appearances, with five of those coming in La Liga. He even claimed the award for the best goal of the month in March. Umar Sadiq has lived up to Mestalla's expectations and justified the faith shown in him by sporting director Miguel Ángel Corona.
With just weeks left on his contract at Valencia, Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay spoke about the Nigerian's situation. “Valencia holds a purchase option on Sadiq. I am very satisfied with his current level. We need to wait until the end of the season to make a decision,” he stated.
There's a chance that Valencia CF could trigger the purchase option and extend their partnership with Umar Sadiq. However, financial considerations may complicate matters. Rumors suggest that clubs from Qatar are interested in the Nigerian forward, reportedly willing to invest a significant sum to secure his services. As of now, though, no concrete offers have emerged, and the player appears to be prioritizing his career in Europe.
