Rejecting Real Madrid Return, Achraf Hakimi Extends PSG Contract
Paris Saint Germain have announced that Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi will remain at the club until 2029, securing his long term future. After moving from Inter Milan to Saint Germain in 2021, the right back has proven himself as vital member of the team.
"I'm very happy to continue my career with Paris Saint Germain. This club and its fans have something special. It's honor for me to represent this great team and I look forward to achieving more success here," Hakimi expressed his happiness with the renewal.
"Mundo Deportivo" reported that Real Madrid contacted Hakimi after Dani Carvajal's injury last year, offering him key role, but the Moroccan rejected the offer and chose to stay in Paris and extend his contract.
Real Madrid are now considering Liverpool's Trent Alexander Arnold as alternative, especially his contract's about to expire, after Hakimi was ruled out.
