Riyad Mahrez tops the fines list at Al Ahly!


Professional football clubs regularly take disciplinary action against their players when they break internal regulations. These sanctions can come in the form of hefty fines, demotion to the reserve squad, or other types of punishment.
According to sports journalist Bandar Al-Musharafi, creator of the "Murtada" podcast, German coach Matthias Jaissle of Al Ahly Jeddah has implemented a strict disciplinary system applied to all players at the club, aiming to reinforce order and crack down on behaviors such as tardiness to training sessions.

Any unexcused absence or late arrival to training now results in a $6,000 fineâa penalty applied to Riyad Mahrez and his teammates alike. Jaissle is betting on strict discipline, and Mahrez appears to be the player hit hardest by these financial penalties!
According to the same source, Riyad Mahrez has been penalized more than any other player at the Saudi club this season, making him the main target of these fines.
It's also important to highlight that Al Ahly recently won the AFC Champions League for the first time in the club's history, defeating Kawasaki Frontale 2-0 in the final held at the "Shining Pearl" Stadium in Jeddah.
