The Saudi Pro League (SPL) has not included any African players in the shortlist for the MVP of the 2024-2025 season.

This decision comes as a real surprise, especially considering that several African stars made their mark during the 2024-2025 season, including Algerian international Riyad Mahrez (Algeria), Senegalese stars Sadio Mané (Al Nassr), Kalidou Koulibaly (Al Hilal), Édouard Mendy (Al Ahly), as well as Ivorian Franck Kessié (Al Ahly) and Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah (Al Shabab).

It's worth noting that Senegalese forward Sadio Mané ranks third among the league's top assist providers with 11 assists, trailing only Salam Al-Dawsari and Moussa Diaby, both of whom have delivered 14 decisive passes.

Meanwhile, Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah sits second in the top scorers' chart, having netted 21 goals in 25 matches played.
