The FCF Rejects Song's Appointment, Éloge Enza Remains at the Helm of the Wild Beasts!

The Central African Football Federation (FCF), led by Sélystène Yanindji, has chosen not to consider the Ministry of Sports' decision appointing Rigobert Song as the head coach of the national team, the "Wild Beasts".

On January 13, 2025, the Ministry of Sports of the Central African Republic officially announced the appointment of Rigobert Song as the technical director of the national team, with Éloge Enza-Yamissi as one of his assistants. This appointment followed a meeting between the former coach of the "Indomitable Lions" and President Faustin-Archange Touadéra, in the presence of Sports Minister Héritier Doneng. However, this decision was firmly rejected by the Central African Football Federation.

The crisis between the federation and the ministry persists

Despite the minister's imposition of a two-year contract unilaterally signed with Rigobert Song, the crisis between the federation and the ministry continues to escalate. Indeed, the federation published an official statement last Friday on its Facebook page, announcing that local coach Éloge Enza-Yamissi, supported by the entire federation, will lead the team for the next two matches against Madagascar and Mali, scheduled for March 19 and 24, as part of the fifth and sixth rounds of the World Cup qualifiers.

On Tuesday, March 11 at 11 a.m., the coach of the Wild Beasts, Éloge Enza, will hold a press conference to announce the list of players who will participate in the next two World Cup qualifying matches.

It is essential to highlight that the Ministry of Sports of the Central African Republic recently received an official warning from FIFA regarding government interference in football affairs.
FIFA insisted on the need for the ministry to refrain from any intervention that could harm the proper functioning of the Central African Football Federation.
