Three Espérance players to watch at the 2025 Club World Cup

Espérance de Tunis will be making their fourth appearance in a Club World Cup in the club’s history, following their participations in 2011, 2018, and 2019.

The oldest club in Tunisia didn’t get any favors from the draw, as they’ll be up against Chelsea, Flamengo, and Los Angeles.

Here are three Espérance de Tunis players to keep your eye on in this international showdown.

Yassine Meriah

The Carthage Eagles’ captain recently returned to action after a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a cruciate ligament injury. An immensely experienced player, Meriah has already featured in two editions of the FIFA World Cup with Tunisia.

Youcef Belaili

The Algerian forward is without question one of the elite players plying his trade on the African continent. In the 2024-2025 season, he’s been directly involved in 35 goals across 35 matches.

Yan Sasse

The Brazilian winger has been a key architect of the Sang et Or’s domestic league triumph. Since joining Espérance in 2023, he has netted 21 goals and delivered 10 assists in 72 appearances.
