Transfer market: Ademola Lookman targeted by Napoli

Italian champions SSC Napoli are reportedly determined to sign the 2024 African Ballon d'Or winner, Ademola Lookman.

Even after officially announcing the arrival of Manchester City legend Kevin De Bruyne to strengthen the squad that clinched the Serie A title last season, Napoli's work is far from over. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Antonio Conte is eager to bring in the African Ballon d'Or winner, Ademola Lookman from Atalanta Bergamo.

Since arriving in Italy in 2022, Ademola Lookman has steadily established himself as one of the top forwards in the league. The Nigerian was crowned African Ballon d'Or winner in 2024 after a stellar campaign, netting 17 goals and providing 9 assists in 45 appearances. His hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen truly put him in the spotlight.

In the just-concluded season, even though Atalanta didn't replicate their previous European run, Lookman delivered his best statistical season to date. With 20 goals and 6 assists across all competitions, he remains one of Bergamo's key men. However, a summer exit could be on the cards. With Napoli's interest heating up, Lookman could well remain in Serie A.
