Transfer market: Wolverhampton FC and Fenerbahçe go all in for Evann Guessand
Evann Guessand could be on his way out of OGC Nice this summer. Wolverhampton and Fenerbahçe are both in the race to sign the 24-year-old French striker, whose performances in Ligue 1 during the 2024/2025 season have turned plenty of heads.
This season, Evann Guessand truly lived up to his potential. With 12 goals and 8 assists in 33 Ligue 1 matches last campaign, the Ivorian was one of the driving forces behind Nice’s strong run. His impressive displays have not gone unnoticed by scouts, and he could be set for a fresh challenge at the end of this summer.
An Anglo-Turkish battle for Guessand
According to multiple sources, Wolverhampton have taken the initiative by submitting an opening offer to Les Aiglons. The Wolves, eager to bolster their attacking line, see Guessand as the perfect fit to inject new energy into their squad. But Fenerbahçe are not ready to let the Nice star leave without a fight. The Istanbul giants, on the hunt for a top striker after a mixed season, have also started talks with Nice.
While OGC Nice values Guessand’s qualities, the club is not ruling out a sale—especially if a major offer comes in. Having joined in 2020 and developed through the club’s youth ranks, Guessand has shown steady progress. Wolves are reported to have tabled a £25m bid, while Fenerbahçe have put forward a €30m package. Negotiations are ongoing between Les Aiglons and the suitors for the Ivorian international.
