Transfer window: Franck Kessié returning to Italy?
Franck Kessié

Will Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessié make his return to Italy after stints with FC Barcelona and Saudi Arabia? Several Italian clubs are eyeing the Africa Cup of Nations champion.

Although he is under contract with Al-Ahli until June 2026, Franck Kessié is not expected to extend his stay. The Ivorian could be considering a return to Italy as early as this summer, having previously played there from 2015 to 2022.

According to Calciomercato, the Ivorian midfielder has caught the attention of several Italian sides, but pulling off the transfer will be no easy feat. AS Roma was the first to show interest in the Ivory Coast international, but quickly dropped out of the race.

In recent days, Juventus have also made inquiries about the former AC Milan player. The Old Lady is reportedly considering including Nicolás González in the deal to facilitate negotiations, as the Saudi club is said to be very interested in the Argentine's profile. However, Kessié's substantial salary—no less than €18 million—remains the biggest obstacle to a move to the Italian giants in the coming weeks.
