U-20 AFCON: 5 things to know about Congolese talent Samuel Ntanda

The coach of the Congolese junior national team, Gye Bukasa, has announced the list of players who will participate in the Africa Cup of Nations (U-20).

After Côte d'Ivoire's withdrawal, Egypt will host the tournament from April 27 to May 18, 2025.

The DR Congo list includes several professionals, notably Samuel Ntanda. Here are 5 things to know about the Congolese prodigy.

• Born in Brussels, he trained in Belgium with KV Mechelen, Anderlecht, and St. Truiden.

• He was recruited by the Italian club Sampdoria when he was only 16 years old.

  

• He made 10 appearances with Sampdoria's first team without scoring a goal.
• His market value is estimated at 500,000 euros on the transfermarket site.
• He has previously represented Belgium's youth teams (U-18 and U-19).
