Vladimir Petkovic's impressive record with the Fennecs

The Swiss coach Vladimir Petkovic is making a successful impact with the Algerian national football team.

Appointed last February to replace Djamel Belmadi, the former Swiss national coach is winning over Algerian supporters.

In 12 matches across all competitions, the former Lazio coach has achieved a record of 9 wins, 2 draws, and only one defeat.

Furthermore, he was one of the key figures in the World Cup campaign, crowned with 5 victories and just one loss.

Ahead of their closest competitor Mozambique by 3 points, Algeria has taken a significant step towards qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

With a wealth of experience at the top European level, the Sarajevo-born coach has managed to build a highly competitive Algerian team after the debacle of the last Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
