Initially barred from participating in these elections, he eventually won his case with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), allowing him to run for a seat on the Comex.

The strongman of Cameroonian football will have a great opportunity to learn within the governing body of African football.

According to several sources, he might be tempted by the position of number 1 within CAF in 2029, the end of South African Patrice Motsepe's second term.

Backed by his experience as a high-level player and his current role as head of Cameroonian football, Samuel Eto'o has a strong chance to follow in the footsteps of his compatriot Issa Hayatou, who was president of CAN from 1988 to 2017.
