Who is Cassiano Kiala? The Angolan prodigy at Bayern Munich

Here is a young player tipped for a bright future. Cassiano Kiala, a German defender of Angolan descent, has been training with Bayern Munich’s first team since the squad regrouped.

Developed at Hertha Berlin, the 16-year-old central defender joined Bayern Munich’s U17s in July 2024. Last season, he featured in 21 matches across all competitions.

Promoted to the U19s this summer, he quickly caught the eye of Vincent Kompany, who decided to call him up to the senior squad. For several days now, he’s been training alongside stars like Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Kingsley Coman.

Of Angolan heritage, Cassiano Kiala currently captains Germany’s U16 side. Nevertheless, he remains eligible to represent the Palancas Negras in the future.
