World Cup 2026 (Q): The Elephants kick off their preparations in Morocco

Ivory Coast has officially begun its preparation for the 5th and 6th matchdays of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Since Monday, March 17, the invited players have been converging at the national team's base camp, located at the Four Seasons Hotel in Rabat, Morocco. A second wave of internationals has joined the group, but four players are still awaited.

Under the guidance of coach Emerse Faé, the first training sessions have begun. The goal is clear: to fine-tune the team's dynamics and best prepare for the upcoming matches against Burundi and Gambia.

These matches will be crucial in the race for the 2026 World Cup qualification.

The group still incomplete

Among the 23 players called up, Sangaré Badra Ali, Evan N’Dicka, Koné Mohamed, and Mohammed Diomandé Baba have not yet arrived. Their arrival is expected between tonight and Tuesday, March 18, to complete the group and optimize collective preparation.

The first images of the Elephants on Moroccan soil reflect their focus and determination to tackle this crucial challenge. Here's a glimpse:
