To discuss this exciting Group B clash, the editorial team sought the opinion of a renowned expert in African football, namely the Belgian coach Luc Eymael, who is currently working with the Congolese club FC Saint Éloi.

The DRC must win to keep their hopes alive for qualifying for the 2026 World Cup. I believe my friend Sébastien Desabre and his players are well aware of the importance of this match and will do everything to secure the three points of victory to put pressure on the group leader Sudan and their direct pursuer Senegal. I think a potential qualification for the Leopards in the World Cup would greatly benefit the country and encourage decision-makers to promote local football by improving infrastructure and working conditions for various stakeholders.

The DRC aims for a second World Cup appearance

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is aiming for a second appearance in the World Cup following their participation in 1974.

Despite successive golden generations, the Leopards have been unable to secure a World Cup qualification ticket over the past 50 years.
