Back to his best form, the dual-nationality talent Mohamed Ihattaren has expressed keen interest in joining the “Atlas Lions.”

This overture has not been well received by some Moroccan supporters due to the player's past refusal to represent the National Team.

In 2020, at the age of 18, he completely overlooked Morocco, choosing instead to represent the Netherlands on the international stage.

Despite this snub, Mohamed Ihattaren has not been blacklisted by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) according to the Moroccan sports newspaper Almountakhab.

From this point on, he can still join the “Atlas Lions” if he manages to convince coach Walid Regargaui.

Ihattaren, a Remarkable Comeback

After a disappointing stint with Juventus in Turin, the former Eindhoven player went through a difficult period and was close to early retirement.

Fortunately for him, he has turned things around this season with his new club RKC Waalwijk, scoring 3 goals and providing 3 assists in 16 Eredivisie matches.
