World Cup 2026 Qualifiers: Which central defense pairing for Morocco against Niger?

Morocco will aim to take a significant step towards qualifying for the World Cup starting this March FIFA Day.

As the leader of their group, the North African team will face off against Niger and Tanzania in the 5th and 6th rounds of the qualifiers.

In the absence of Romain Saïss, who suffered a nasty injury with his Qatari club Al-Saad, three players are competing for a spot in the central defense alongside the indispensable Nayef Aguerd.

These players are Abdel Abqar, Jamal Harkass, and Jawad El Yamiq, who will be vying to earn the trust of coach Walid Regragui.

Faced with a wealth of options, the former Wydad coach has a plethora of choices to form his starting eleven.
