World Cup: Germany registers its first withdrawal! (Official)
Severely injured, Serge Gnabry sees his World Cup dream slip away, forced to call time on his season with Bayern Munich.
This is a tough blow for Serge Gnabry. After sustaining a right thigh injury last weekend, the Bayern Munich forward has confirmed he will not take part in the upcoming World Cup, adding to his absence already confirmed for the European showdown against Paris Saint-Germain.

The injury—a torn adductor muscle—brings his season to an abrupt halt. The Bavarian club has spoken of a lengthy spell on the sidelines, while the German press estimates his absence will last between two and four months, effectively ending his international ambitions for the summer.
On his social media, the German international didn't hide his disappointment:
"These past few days have been hard to take. A Bayern season that still has a lot left to play for after securing another Bundesliga title this weekend. As for the World Cup dream with Germany, it is unfortunately over. Like the rest of the country, I'll be supporting the lads from home. Now, it's time to focus on recovery and come back for pre-season."
