Wydad: Benhachem confident and Zemraoui vows to battle for 2nd place!
The debate over who will coach Wydad Casablanca at the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, set for this summer in the United States, is still ongoing. This tournament, which will feature a new format with 32 teams, is scheduled to take place from June 15 to July 13, 2025.
In this context, Amine Benhachem, Wydad's interim coach and successor to Rulani Mokwena, spoke at the press conference following his team's 2-1 victory over AS FAR last Saturday. He stated: "The Club World Cup is still a long way off. For now, I am the coach of Wydad for the last three matches of the league."
He added: "I am currently under contract as the assistant coach. The Club World Cup is still in the future, and when the time comes, we will decide who will take charge of the team."
Zemraoui praises Benhachem's work: "He has injected new energy into the team"!
On his part, Wydad player Oussama Zemraoui praised the remarkable work done by Amine Benhachem since his arrival.
"Benhachem has created a dynamic atmosphere in training. He has focused on our mental and psychological preparation, which has helped us feel more ready."
He continued: "We promise our fans that we will give everything in the final league matches and fight to secure second place, which qualifies for the CAF Champions League."
It should be noted that only two league matches remain before the end of the season. The battle for second place is intensifying, with Wydad set to face Chabab Soualem and Renaissance Zemamra, while AS FAR will take on Moghreb Tétouan and Hassania Agadir.
