Youssoupha Sanyang reflects on his transfer to Sweden

Transferred in June to Slavia Prague, Youssoupha Sanyang (19) became the most expensive sale in Östers IF’s history with a fee of £3 million.

Yet, the Senegalese striker could have joined Hammarby instead of Östers IF. In an interview with Fotbolltransfers.com, Youssoupha Sanyang revealed:

Hammarby were tracking me, but Öster showed more interest. I didn't want to wait around for a club.

Arriving at the start of the season from Teungueth FC, he played ten Allsvenskan matches with Öster before heading off to Prague.
