Zak Sturge leaves Chelsea for Millwall

After several consecutive loan spells, Zak Sturge's journey at Chelsea has come to an end. The young English defender, 21, has officially joined Millwall, as announced by the London club on its website.

Having arrived at Chelsea from Brighton in the summer of 2022, Sturge never made a single appearance for the Blues' first team. He spent most of his time out on loan, most recently with Millwall since last winter, where he featured in five official Championship matches.

Impressed by his potential, Millwall's management triggered the purchase option and handed him a long-term contract. The club, which finished eighth in the Championship last season, is counting on Sturge to bolster their defense in the push for promotion.
