Zizo affair: Zamalek strikes back

Zamalek is preparing a counter-offensive after losing their top player Ahmed Sayed Zizo, who chose to join historical rival Al Ahly.

Frustrated by the turn of events, the 2024 Confederation Cup winner hopes to convince some players from the Cairo neighbor to make the reverse journey.

According to the Egyptian media outlet youm7, Zamalek is targeting three Al Ahly players: Mohamed Magdy Afcha, Akram Tawfik, and Ahmed Abdelkader.

The "White Castle" mission will not be easy, especially since they will have to make a significant financial effort to convince the players to wear their jersey.

An uneven battle

Zamalek can no longer compete with Al Ahly due to its recurring financial problems.

This has led several of its best players to leave the club over the years, including Tarek Hamed, Ferjani Sassi, and Achraf Bencharki.
