2026 World Cup: Kylian Mbappé is the fastest player of the tournament
French international and Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé did not clinch the second World Cup title of his career.
However, the captain of the French national team delivered an outstanding personal performance. Kylian Mbappé finished as the tournament's top scorer and became the all-time leading scorer in World Cup history. The Bondy native was also the fastest player of the competition.
Mbappé was clocked at an electrifying 37.61 km/h. The former PSG player edged out Sweden's Anthony Elanga (37.16 km/h) and the Netherlands' Micky Van de Ven (36.77 km/h). Notably, France placed three players in the tournament's top 10 for speed. Bradley Barcola ranked seventh (36.32 km/h), while Théo Hernandez took ninth place (36.17 km/h).
